Personality:
First and foremost, Holly is loud - in every sense of the word. She has no trouble making herself heard, but she's also very loud and confident in how she presents herself. She's someone who knows that actions speak louder than words, and will let you know she's displeased or overjoyed in equal measure. She also swears like a sailor, which usually beautifully emphasises the aforementioned emotions. Sarcasm is also something she's latched onto as well as the various curses she's picked up in her time.
You'll never need to worry about whether or not you're getting the truth from her - unless the situation calls for a lie, Holly is remarkably honest, sometimes to the point of bluntness. She doesn't see the point in tiptoeing around things if laying your cards on the table then and there will cut to the chase and save everyone time. She learned a lot from her father, but most of all that time is precious and there's no point in wasting it needlessly.
Her confidence also bleeds into her curious, adventurous nature, which can also go hand in hand with her tendency to be impatient, and her impulsiveness. And while this has gotten her into trouble in the past, she's a quick thinker with a sense of bravery (and occasional hubris) far beyond her years. This is a young lady with no time for waitin' around to get caught. Better to beg forgiveness than ask permission and all that.
However, her temperament can also mean that she has a volatile temper; something especially prevalent after the loss of her family and then after her successful - and bloody - mission of revenge. While she's still very young, Holly knows how to hold a grudge and will do so with an iron grip. Luckily, her father didn't only teach her a colourful vocabulary. He taught her the valuable lesson of judging when to strike back after you've been wronged, instead of doing so in the same moment and acting in anger. This combined with her temper can lead to frustrations running high and doors getting slammed, but generally she's able to reel it back and take a breath.
All that aside, Holly's generally a bright, good humoured kid with a wicked sense of humour and a love of being around people. And despite the weight of the title she's inherited as the head of her family, she still manages to act her age every now and then.

History:
With deep roots in the New York mob and connections spreading further still, over the years and the generations, the Genovese family gradually rose to power, eventually climbing the ranks and becoming one of the most influential families in history - both in the human world and in the supernatural.
Holly grew up wanting for nothing, loved and doted on by a close knit family and by the people her parents trusted most. Surrounded by wealth and power, she was raised believing that her life would be an easy, care-free one - that the world was hers for the taking, that she deserved the best it could offer. She watched and learned a lot from her father especially, observing how he controlled and manipulated those he considered his enemies, and the generosity and loyalty he displayed to those he considered his friends.
As the baby of the family, her older brothers adored her and were typically overprotective, as was her sister Giovanna - between them, they looked out for her, and for the most part they shielded her just enough from the darker parts of the life they enjoyed so much.
On the night of her father's birthday, a huge party was held at the family home. And up until the moment that everything went horribly wrong, everything was going splendidly.
Holly was upstairs fetching something to show a family friend when her eldest brother Matthew found her. He told her not to make a sound, picked her up, and hid her in the back of his closet. Before shutting her in, he told her not to come out until he came and got her. That was the last thing he - or anyone else in her immediate family - ever said to her.
While she stayed hidden away, downstairs her family and any guests who hadn't gotten out in time were being slaughtered by a rival vampire clan, seeking the territory and power that had Holly's family had claimed for decades.
With the help of the immediate remaining right hand men, Holly found out who was responsible for robbing her of her parents and siblings, and armed with her grief and rage - and a nail gun, thanks to a movie she was definitely too young to watch - she set out to seek her revenge.
One blood soaked evening later, she returned to her family home, inheriting not only her father's mantle as the head of the family and all the responsibility that carried with it, but also a reputation of her very own. One that she's trying to shape and nurture as she grows accustomed to sitting on the proverbial throne, and to leading those who remain loyal to her father's name. Luckily for her, Giovanni Genovese was an excellent judge of character, and so the advisers he inadvertently left behind for his daughter are the best she could hope for. They keep her on track, teaching her and looking out for her, whilst also still trying to make sure she keeps some kind of hold on whatever remains of her childhood.
